29 LinkedIn Lessons From 29 Days of Experiments
Right now. Everyone is testing new things.
No one knows for certain. What works and what doesn't.
That is why, when someone suddenly goes viral.
There is no single satisfying theory.
Everyone is second guessing at this point.
Before that I want to apologize.
I have been really busy with client work. And my own personal life that I haven’t been able to write these issues.
I vow the make these issues more frequent.
So, here are my lessons from experimentation.
And these lessons are more like dos and don’ts.
- Commenting is the real game. LinkedIn is pushing for human written comments. People can follow you from there.
- Always find leads from posts. Not sales navigator. Intent based signaling. Wrote a whole blog on this.
- If you want to see how many impression someone is getting. Comment on their post. The amount of impressions your comments get. Multiple that by 7.
- Post on weekends.
- Aim to leave 500 comments per week.
- Having real genuine conversations.
- Never pitch in the DM. Always ask right and targeted questions.
- Start a newsletter. Your future self will thank you for it.
- Do not spam. Instead, give so much value in your outreach that people tell you how good it is.
- Never comment when your mood is off. No one likes bad energy.
- Turn on notifications for all the human writers you can find. That is where you will find real conversations.
- Start conversations with commenters on other’s post.
- Always ask thoughtful and relevant questions.
- Show your personality without compromising your privacy.
- Don’t be cocky. Always be humble and curious. This gets more sales.
- There is no fix time to post. Try different timings to see what hits.
- Find people with money from ads. If they are crazy enough to experiment with ads. They are crazy enough to hire you.
- Answer objections in your content.
- Do not make a claim on LinkedIn, which you cannot prove.
- Always check the credibility of the person before blindly following him.
- Pinned comments are dead.
- Pictures matter more than you think.
- No one is getting better engagements with videos.
- Conversion rate depends on a lot different things. Some factors are out of your control. Only focus on gathering information until you have winning structure.
- Never change something on your profile if it is already working.
- Posting twice a day doesn’t hurt. Posting twice might.
- Do not share posts in DM. It kills credibility. If post isn’t performing well. Don’t panic. No one is certain about impressions anymore.
- Niche down as much as you can. And then become authority in that. Ik it is difficult. But it is the only way forward.
- Vibecode your own lead magnets. And make sure they are interactive lead magnets.
Bonus: If a client is not a fit. Say NO. You only want winning cases. People who will benefit the most from your services.
This is only applicable to services which are result driven.
