Weekends have become pretty lazy for me, lately.
I schedule tasks for weekends, but end up procrastinating them.
I am sure most of you feel the same.
After working a full week, you need time to wind down.
So, yesterday I did nothing except watch a season, meet friends or just lay on my coach.
This has been pretty boring.
Yet, I had the happiest dreams last night.
And this happened after a long time.
Usually, I don’t.
But this issue of Sunday Growth diaries isn’t about me.
It’s about my newsletter and how I am growing that.
As you know, I started this Sunday Growth Diaries so that I can:
👉 Keep track of my journey
👉 Document my processes
👉 Plan for the next week
And most importantly share my journey with my subscribers.
✔️ The decisions I’ve made in the past week
✔️ The hurdles I’ve jumped
✔️ The lessons learned along the way
As another week on my journey to 1 million subscribers wraps up.
Here’s what’s been happening behind the scenes at The Notion Millionaire.
Last week was pretty good.
My Golden Strategy for Content is working.
And my funnel is taking off.
Which is good.
Still, a lot needs to be done.
- Quiz
- Shop
- Launch of my coaching and consultation
And I need to stay on top of these things.
Plus, I have also decided to add paid marketing to my funnel.
I am looking forward to this.
To give you a synopsis of my business:
- My subscriptions (the main source of revenue)
- Notion bundles
- Upwork coaching
- Agency setup consultation
Since I am giving away a lot of free value in my content, I am not giving away free consultation.
This is not going back.
If you need my time, you will have to pay for it.
It’s as simple as that.
And the big thing that I was working on is below.
Before that, let’s audit my week and see what improvements can be made.
Weekly Overview
This week’s focus was on understanding the problems of my audience.
I have a very clear picture of what my audience struggles with.
I am eternally grateful to my LORD for making this happen.
Because last week, I was hopeless with my tactics.
With these insights, my marketing is more targeted and results are better than ever.
Target vs Reality
- The goal for the week: Understand what works and what doesn’t.
- What we achieved: my team and I have prepared a document, writing down everything we know about our audience. It is still unstructured but it will get better with time.
Substack and medium ROI are not good for me right now.
I need to have a short-term strategy as well.
Long-term strategies will dry up my cash flow.
Important insight about my target audience – I have 3-4 segments.
Based on their experience and learning.
I need to jot these down, or this information will be lost in time.
Studying the top influencers and going back to their posting when things started to work for them has really paid off.
This was a good strategy.
Thanks, Mentor.
In the Spotlight
Most things which were brewing on my table last week are near completion now.
Such as:
- The Golden Strategy (Full-fledge deployment remaining)
- The Copy Studios (Website ready, deployment pending)
- I am not viral on Twitter yet
- The audience building is taking off.
- I have reversed engineer Justin Welsh’s strategy
Other things which are brewing at the moment:
- My shop (You get full access to it for free)
- Consultation (For agency owners)
- Coaching (For freelancers)
- The upwork issue not getting resolved by Upwork.
Let’s hope all of these things go well.
Strategic Insights
Always hang out where your audience is.
I have been doing that and the exposure to my business has been huge.
This has helped me:
- Learn their problems on a deeper level
- Understand what language they speak (terminologies)
- Network
- Get more eyeballs on my business
I have made some really good connections doing this.
Lesson Learnt
Lesson # 1 – Teach what you know to others
This has helped me brush up on my basics.
Also, giving back is very important.
That is how the economy roles.
And you get back what you give away. At times 10 fold.
Lesson # 2 – Do not be afraid of new experimentations
I was afraid of experimenting with paid marketing.
Despite being the Top Marketing Voice on LinkedIn.
So, I have decided that I will keep experimenting.
I don’t care if all of them fail.
And one of them hits off, payback is huge.
Upwork Quiz
I have an important announcement.
I am launching a quiz to help people realize at what stage they are and what do they need so help me secure 1-3 clients on Upwork.
To do this, I have created a quiz – Is Upwork for me?
By taking this quiz, participants will:
- Where they stand when it comes to Upwork
- What they need to do to make it big on Upwork
- Self-audit their skills and identify the gaps they need
This will give them a reality check.
Let’s see how this goes.
Every week, I have so many tasks to execute that I forget my promises.
Until someone reminds me of them.
So, if I promised you something and it has skipped my mind.
Be kind enough to remind me of my promises.
Your reminders keep me on track.
What is my latest unfulfilled promise?
Let me know.
Waiting,
Talha X
